learning through play

PACC's programming is guided by the Middle Years Learning Framework, titled "My Time, Our Place". The framework identifies five learning outcomes that promote and measure children's social development and well being.

We aim to foster independence, self esteem and a strong sense of belonging through play. PACC Educators (aka PACC Leaders) work to plan and evaluate activities, facilities, equipment and the service's routines, procedures and policies to provide our children the best possible opportunities to achieve these outcomes.

The five learning outcomes:

  • Children have a strong sense of identity

  • Children are connected with and contribute to their world

  • Children have a strong sense of well being

  • Children are confident and involved learners

  • Children are effective communicators

  • Sporting activities

  • Cooking

Seniors club

PACC launched a new, senior-only program on Monday 24th October 2016. More info

The Senior Club gives year 5 and 6 children more freedom and autonomy over the activities. This will be done in a space seperate from the juniors, and requires an agreement to a set of behaviour guidelines. The Senior Club Behaviour Agreement

PACC provides the basic necessary equipment for children to complete their homework including dictionaries, stationery and quiet areas. While PACC team members will encourage children and assist them when possible they are not tutors.

Food and Beverages

PACC provides a healthy breakfast and afternoon tea each day. Afternoon tea is served after the children arrive at the Centre and always includes fruit and sandwiches. The menu also includes foods such as vegetable and cheese platters, fried rice, soups, pastas, etc. Children are also served a late snack at 5pm. Snacks include dried or fresh fruit.

PACC caters to special dietary needs where possible. PACC is a "nut free centre" due to current children attending with severe allergies The food allergy policy is reviewed with each new enrolment and families are advised accordingly.
