At PACC, we are committed to being a child safe organisation. To keep children safe we commit to:
Implementing the 10 Child Safe Standards
Creating a child safe culture where children’s rights are respected and their voices are heard
Maintaining clear behavioural expectations and professional boundaries
Responding promptly and appropriately to any concerns, disclosures or allegations of harm, in line with NSW child protection laws and the Reportable Conduct Scheme
Managing risks to children in both physical and online environments
Promoting inclusion and cultural safety for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, children with disability, and children from diverse backgrounds
Continuously reviewing and improving our policies and practices to strengthen child safety
As a child safe organisation we recognise that child safety is a shared responsibility. We encourage children, families and our community to speak up if they have any concerns about the safety or wellbeing of a child. We commit to:
Educating everyone involved in our organisation about what it means to be a child safe
organisation, so that we can prevent, detect and effectively respond to child abuse
Making sure everyone involved in our organisation knows how to appropriately respond to complaints, allegations, disclosures and breaches to our Child Safe Code of Conduct
Welcoming feedback to continuously improve our child safe policies, procedures and practices
Making sure that when family and community members interact with our organisation, they are aware that child safety is everyone’s responsibility, and their behaviour aligns with our child safe practices
